For its 30th year, California Spirit, will bring together renowned chefs from Los Angeles’ best restaurants to prepare their finest culinary creations, wine makers from California’s premier wineries, and unique creations from LA’s top mixologists. Originally founded in 1985 by Master Chef Wolfgang Puck, Barbara Lazaroff and Sherry Lansing, California Spirit has grown into a spectacular gourmet gala featuring fine cuisine, premium California wines, live entertainment and live and silent auctions filled with amazing prizes. California Spirit is one of Southern California’s largest gala fundraisers benefiting the American Cancer Society and over the past 30 years has raised more than $15 million for the society’s lifesaving research, education, prevention and free patient service programs.

For nearly a century, the American Cancer Society has fought for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. By taking what we’ve learned through research and turning it into what we do, we have contributed to a 15 percent decrease in the overall cancer death rate between the early 1990s and 2005. That means that we helped avoid about 650,000 cancer deaths and created the potential for more birthday celebrations. Overall, 13 million cancer survivors in America will celebrate a birthday this year. Now that’s a reason to party, so join us!
